Professor Rosemary Dyson

University of Birmingham

Rosemary Dyson is a Professor in Applied Mathematics at the University of Birmingham. She applies the principles of mathematical modelling to mechanical problems in biological and industrial contexts, generating novel insights into the systems involved, as well as new mathematical techniques. As such her work is inherently highly collaborative, involving frequent interactions with experimentalists. She leads the EPSRC-funded Scale Up Mathematics for Formulated Products NetworkPlus, is a Super Champion for the Knowledge Exchange Hub for the Mathematical Sciences, and serves on the Newton Gateway to Mathematics Scientific Advisory Panel and the UK ESGI steering committee.
