Originally from Barcelona, Jan began his studies in mathematics in London before moving to Cambridge for his master’s, where his focus shifted from pure mathematics to probability. For his master’s project, he explored recent advances in Random Walks on Dynamical Percolation, a model of movement through a randomly evolving environment. His research interests include a wide range of probabilistic models, but particularly those with physical relevance or motivation. Jan is also deeply engaged in the pedagogy and communication of mathematics.

Beyond mathematics, he enjoys reading science fiction, exploring nature by bike, and discovering new coffee spots.
